It is a pleasure to welcome Michael Collins MBE back to Jordans Music Club. He enjoys a distinguished international career as both clarinettist and conductor. He is joined by regular musical partner Michael McHale, one of Ireland’s leading pianists with a busy international career as a solo recitalist, concerto soloist and chamber musician.

Their diverse programme includes Weber’s well-known Grand Duo Concertant, a virtuosic piece for both instruments, and Saint Saens’ Clarinet Sonata, a masterpiece of impishness, elegance and lyricism. Concluding the concert is Poulenc’s clarinet sonata, commissioned by Benny Goodman who gave the first performance at New York’s Carnegie Hall with Leonard Bernstein.
